Last Thursday we visited “Funky Town” with some old school disco moves that would have made the Bee Gees proud. This year JSACP has introduced extra-curricular activities, knowing how time poor some of our families are and to broaden the experiences we offer at the service. Families and children were surveyed and encouraged to provide feedback about the types of activities they would be interested in attending. Once a week a group of JSACP students participate in an extra-curricular activity, run by external providers and supported by our Educators (keen to learn new skills).
We kicked, flipped and rolled our way through Martial Arts last term with students learning important self-defence skills. It was with great pride we watched the end of Term routine, that was demonstrated in font of an excited audience in the hall.
This Term, we’re moving and grooving with the enthusiastic instructors from Dima Dance. Even our Educators can’t help but get involved. With Disco skills mastered, we’re looking forward to covering musical theatre and hip hop across the next four weeks. At the end of week 5, we’re excited to invite parents and students to watch the final performance (COVID dependent), and pick up a few new moves for any future events.
JSACP is always looking to hear feedback from children and families and invite you to suggest any future ideas for activities. Clyde is very excited to organise golf lessons (he thinks he’s the next Rory McIlroy), but we welcome all suggestions. We’re excited to see what amazing skills we get to learn next. Who said learning was just for the classroom!
